LOOK: Kicking it in Beverly Hills

I always enjoy spending some time in Beverly Hills, which I consider one of the most gorgeous areas in Los Angeles. That said, beauty is not the only thing you will find in this town.

Sure, it's got Rodeo Dr., luxurious boutiques and all those incredibly annoying star tours and sightseeing buses rolling up and down the streets and drives, but if you get to spend some time there as a local and not a tourist, you quickly start to appreciate this place in a richer way.

Essentially, beyond the glamor of it all, you can find about anything in Beverly Hills. You'll see a horde of expensive rides lined up along the streets, but you also keep spotting cheaper, much older cars creeping up and down Canon or Beverly.

You can certainly find an overpriced eatery on every corner, but hey, you'll also have no trouble grabbing that $7 lunch. You can pay a visit to ridiculous mansions, but you'll also pass a bunch of smaller, average homes.

Additionally, Beverly Hills is not all Gucci or high heels - pay a quick visit around lunch time, and most people you pass outside look and dress fairly ordinary.

Long story short: Beverly Hills is a very diverse place, and as someone who doesn't drive a Bugatti or wears suits everyday, I find it incredibly easy to blend in without standing out.

Much like the air feels different in Santa Monica than other parts of the L.A. Metropolitan area, the flair you experience in Beverly Hills holds something special.

I have to disclaim I've never been a Beverly Hills resident, but I always enjoy hanging out over there.
